Hi Followers
There are many diseases, sicknesses and ailments that many people either:
1.) Don't know they have the problem
2.) Are aware that they have a problem but are treating it
incorrectly
3.) Are aware of the problem but underestimate the severity of it.
The three common diseases most people treat incorrectly and underestimate their severity are heartburn, acid reflux and gastro esophageal reflux disease.
Everyone who suffers from heartburn can feel as though a fire is burning through their chest. Symptoms of acid reflux aren't only limited to burning pains in the chest. Chest pressure, nausea and bloating are also common symptoms of this problem.
Many people either resort to antacids that can lead to a host of other problems or they make attempts to treat themselves naturally but are given wrong information. What they should be doing is to remove their root causes using colon, parasites, liver and gallbladder cleanses.
Most people, who suffer from acid reflux, do not know that they also have very severe underlining problems including ulcers and certain types of cancers in their gut.
Colon, Parasite, Liver and Gallbladder Cleanses:
- Cure your heartburn and acid reflux forever.
- Stop your chest pressure and pain.
- Allow you to eat and drink what ever you want
- Stop the constant burping and embarrassing flatulence
- End stomach bloating and discover your flat tummy again!
- Stop giving away your money to the drug companies, and spend it
on your family instead.
- Stop clearing your throat of phlegm build-up
- Stop the damage that your body is experiencing.

25 Ways to Improve Your Health
Dear Followers,
Here is another interesting article by Mike Adams.
25 ways to improve your health and happiness in 2010
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
(NaturalNews) The New Year is upon us, and for many people, it includes a New Year's resolution for achieving improved health and happiness in 2010. Here are twenty-five health-enhancing ideas to help you accomplish that goal.
#1 - Replace sodas or soft drinks with tea or water.
#2 - Commit to eating one raw fruit (or serving of vegetables) at every meal.
#3 - Add just 5 minutes a day to your exercise routine. Don't have an exercise routine? Start with 5 minutes a day!
#4 - Get more sunshine!
#5 - Learn some Pilates. It's probably the #1 exercise system for core strength and flexibility.
#6 - Drink a superfood smoothie every day.
#7 - Buy more indoor plants: They purify the air in your home.
#8 - Take a quality, wild-harvested fish oil supplement that contains vitamin D.
#9 - Eat more quinoa: It's a high-protein, low-carb "grain" that can easily replace rice or couscous.
#10 - When you get out of bed each morning, do five sit-ups first. It sounds simple, but just 5 sit-ups a day can make a difference.
#11 - Instead of trying to find a parking spot so close to the grocery store, park farther away. You'll get a little more walking exercise and a little more sunshine.
#12 - Get a good water filter so you can stop drinking tap water (or bottled water).
#13 - Pick up a "gentle" art like Tai-Qi or Yoga. It will reduce your stress and improve your physical stamina.
#14 - Take a relaxing hot bath with epsom salts and soothing herbs like lavender. It will do wonders for your mind and your muscles.
#15 - Get a professional massage! Massage therapy is really, really healthy, and it's a great way to reward yourself for some of the other accomplishments you're making.
#16 - Grow your own sprouts! With a simple, low-cost sprouting machine, you can grow and eat your own sprouts. Eating just one ounce of sprouts a day still had a huge impact on preventing cancer and boosting immune function.
#17 - Prepare for a Spring garden. Sure, it's cold and snowy right now, but make a commitment to start a garden this Spring, and you'll reap many health benefits in the months ahead.
#18 - Get a mini-trampoline and do some rebounding in your living room. You can even watch movies or documentary DVDs at the same time.
#19 - Make a point to get at least eight hours of sleep for 2-3 nights a week (or more, if you can). Most people are sleep deprived, and the health cost is enormous.
#20 - Start visiting local farmer's markets so that you eat more local food in 2010. You'll be healthier and happier as a result.
#21 - Got a job you don't like? Quit it! Downgrade your lifestyle to live on less money, then pursue what you really enjoy. Being happy in a small house is better than being miserable in a big one.
#22 - Get off those medications! Make a point to learn how to safely and gradually get yourself off all the medications you can by eliminating underlying imbalances or illnesses. The fewer medications you take, the healthier you'll be!
#23 - Throw out your television! Are you still watching cable TV or satellite TV? It's a complete waste of your life (but you already knew that). Disconnect the cable. Read more books and get your information online where news sources are more independent and intelligent.
#24 - Make a decision to think of food as nourishment instead of entertainment. Eat what your body needs, not what your taste buds desire.
#25 - Teach others how to be healthy! The more you talk with others about healthy habits, the more you'll follow them yourself. :-)
That's it! I hope you enjoyed these 25 ideas for improving your health in 2010 (and beyond).
Of course, one of the best ways to keep improving your health in 2010 is to keep reading NaturalNews! We'll be bringing you more natural cures, herbal remedies and self-care tips throughout 2010.
I'm personally looking forward to sharing a great year with you!

Never Take Aspirin
Dear Followers,
Recently, I have included a few excerpts from some natural health writers and doctors so that you can go into their websites and get free registrations for their articles.
Below is another excerpt form a doctor whose articles I have read regularly.
Article from: DrNanFuchs@Letters.WomensHealthLetter.com

Why you should never take an aspirin in the morning
For decades, doctors have recommended that we take an aspirin first thing in the morning to thin our blood. This, they've told us, will prevent heart attacks and stroke. But a group of Chinese researchers found that the time of day you take that aspirin could actually put you at risk for stroke. And early in the morning may be the worst time to take it.
Here's why:
A stroke can happen at any time. But it occurs more frequently or unexpectedly in the morning. That's when platelets clump together more than at any other time of the day or night. When you take an aspirin early in the morning, its protective blood-thinning effect occurs during the day. Not early in the morning when your blood needs thinning.
Aspirin is least protective during the night and early morning when you're not physically active. This lack of activity contributes to platelet aggregation — the clumping of platelets that causes heart attacks and stroke. If you feel you have to take an aspirin a day, at least take it before bed. That's when its ability to thin your blood is at its peak.
How to Use Your Eye's "Natural Sunglasses" to Protect Your Vision
Don't let eyesight troubles rob you of your independence.
Research from Harvard Medical School shows this little-known nutrient can help you halt vision loss and enjoy clear, healthy eyesight for years to come.
Find out more:
The real question is, do you need aspirin at all? Just about everyone knows that it has side effects, including ulcers, heartburn, and nausea. And there are some great alternatives.
Start with warming spices, such as curry, cayenne, ginger, and oregano. These tasty spices warm you because they increase blood circulation. They're nature's natural blood thinners.
Fish, flax, and berries all thin your blood as well. So do a number of supplements, including omega-3 fats and vitamin E.
Before you take another aspirin, ask yourself whether or not you really need it. You don't have an aspirin deficiency. Stick with these alternatives. Most are very safe to take with other drugs. But if you're concerned, ask an integrative physician to evaluate all the supplements and drugs you're taking for interactions. It's possible they can help wean you off of other drugs — not just aspirin.
And if you insist on taking aspirin, be sure to take it at night. An aspirin first thing in the morning won't protect you from a stroke.

Why excess abdominal fat is more DEADLY than you think

Hi Liew,
Below is an article contributed by Mike Geary,
the founder of Truth About Abs. I thought
this was an important topic to share with you
because the reality is that most people simply
don't realize how dangerous their excess
abdominal fat really is to their health.
The Hidden Dangers of Your Excess Abdominal
Fat - It's More Serious Than a Vanity Issue!
by Mike Geary, Certified Nutrition Specialist,
Certified Personal Trainer
Did you know that the vast majority of people
in this day and age have excess abdominal fat?
The first thing that most people think of is
that their extra abdominal fat is simply ugly,
is covering up their abs from being visible,
and makes them self conscious about showing
off their body.
However, what most people don't realize is
that excess abdominal fat in particular, is
not only ugly, but is also a dangerous risk
factor to your health. Scientific research has
clearly demonstrated that although it is
unhealthy in general to have excess body fat
throughout your body, it is also particularly
dangerous to have excess abdominal fat.
There are two types of fat that you have in
your abdominal area. The first type that
covers up your abs from being visible is
called subcutaneous fat and lies directly
beneath the skin and on top of the abdominal
muscles.
The second type of fat that you have in your
abdominal area is called visceral fat, and
that lies deeper in the abdomen beneath your
muscle and surrounding your organs. Visceral
fat also plays a role in giving certain men
that "beer belly" appearance where their
abdomen protrudes excessively but at the same
time, also feels sort of hard if you push on
it.
Both subcutaneous fat and visceral fat in the
abdominal area are serious health risk
factors, but science has shown that having
excessive visceral fat is even more dangerous
than subcutaneous fat. Both of them greatly
increase the risk your risk of developing
heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure,
stroke, sleep apnea, various forms of cancer,
and other degenerative diseases.
Part of the reason visceral fat is
particularly dangerous is that it apparently
releases more inflammatory molecules into your
body on a consistent basis.
If you care about the quality of your life and
your loved ones, reducing your abdominal fat
should be one of your TOP priorities! There's
just no way around it. Besides, a side-effect
of finally getting rid of all of that
excessive ugly abdominal fat is that your
stomach will flatten out, and if you lose
enough stomach fat, you will be able to
visibly see those sexy six pack abs that
everyone wants.
So what gets rid of extra abdominal fat? Is
there actually a REAL solution beyond all of
the gimmicks and hype that you see in ads and
on commercials for "miracle" fat loss
products?
The first thing you must understand is that
there is absolutely NO quick fix solution.
There are no pills or supplements of any sort
that will help you lose your abdominal fat
faster. Also, none of the gimmicky ab rockers,
rollers, or ab belts will help get rid of
abdominal fat either. You can't spot reduce
your stomach fat by using any of these
worthless contraptions. It simply doesn't work
that way.
The ONLY solution to consistently lose your
abdominal fat and keep it off for good is to
combine a sound nutritious diet full of
unprocessed natural foods with a properly
designed strategic exercise program that
stimulates the necessary hormonal and
metabolic response within your body. Both your
food intake as well as your training program
are important if you are to get this right.
I've actually even seen a particular study
that divided thousands of participants into a
diet-only group and an exercise/diet group.
While both groups in this study made good
progress, the diet-only group lost
significantly LESS abdominal fat than the diet
& exercise combined group.
Now the important thing to realize is that
just any old exercise program will not
necessarily do the trick. The majority of
people that attempt getting into a good
exercise routine are NOT working out
effectively enough to really stimulate the
loss of stubborn abdominal fat. I see this
everyday at the gym.
Most people will do your typical boring
ineffective cardio routines, throw in a little
outdated body-part style weight training, and
pump away with some crunches and side bends,
and think that they are doing something useful
for reducing their abdominal fat. Then they
become frustrated after weeks or months of no
results and wonder where they went wrong.
Well, the good news is that I've spent over a
decade researching this topic, analyzing the
science, and applying it "in the trenches"
with myself as well as thousands of my clients
from all over the world to see what works to
really stimulate abdominal fat loss.
The entire solution... all of the nutritional
strategies, as well as training sequences,
exercise combinations, and more have all been
compiled in my Truth About Six Pack Abs
Program.
Keep in mind that the point of this whole
program is NOT abdominal exercises (that is
only a very small portion of it). The main
point of this program is showing you the
absolute most effective strategies for losing
your stubborn abdominal fat, so you can get
rid of that dangerous health risk, as well as
get a flatter more defined midsection.
If you follow the guidelines, you WILL lose
your belly fat that has been plaguing you for
years. This is not guesswork... it is a proven
system that works time and time again for all
of my clients on every corner of the globe
that actually apply the information I teach.
If you apply it, the results will come. It's
really that simple.
The only reason most people fail in their
fitness goals is that they have good
intentions at first to adopt a new lifestyle,
yet after a few weeks or months, they abandon
their good intentions and slip right back into
their old bad habits that gave them the excess
body fat in the first place.
I want to help you succeed in finally getting
rid of that extra abdominal fat that is not
only UGLY, but also DANGEROUS.
Don't waste another day allowing that nasty
abdominal fat to kill your confidence as well
as contribute to your risk for MAJOR diseases.
Get the solution to rid yourself for life of
this problem at...

How to Lick Bad Breath Fast -- as Easy as 1, 2, 3...

Bad breath is often a symptom of dry mouth -- a condition known as “xerostomia.” Other symptoms of this problem include saliva that seems thick, sores or split skin at the corners of your mouth, and difficulty speaking and swallowing,.
Most xerostomia is related to medication. More than 400 drugs can affect the salivary glands. These include drugs for urinary incontinence, allergies, high blood pressure, depression, diarrhea and Parkinson's disease. Also, some over-the-counter medications often cause dry mouth.
Tobacco, alcohol, drinks with caffeine, snoring and breathing with your mouth open can aggravate dry mouth.
There are ways to improve saliva flow. You can also sip water regularly, try over-the-counter saliva substitutes, avoid breathing through your mouth, and use a humidifier in your bedroom.
If you have dry mouth, you have to pay greater attention to your teeth. Brush your teeth with an extra-soft toothbrush after every meal and at bedtime. If brushing hurts, soften the bristles in warm water. Floss your teeth gently every day.

Dr. Mercola's Comments:
The bothersome combination of dry mouth and bad breath, also known as xerostomia, can be chalked up as yet another common problem caused by prescription drug use.
Although the article above states there are some 400 medicines that can affect your salivary glands, a study from 2000 found that more than 600 medications have the potential to reduce saliva production and lead to increased tooth decay. Whatever the real number is, it’s clear that there are an awful lot of them that can cause this side effect.
Xerostomia is not to be confused with halitosis, or bad breath, which is typically caused by systemic diseases, gastrointestinal and/or upper respiratory tract disorders, and microbial metabolism from your tongue, saliva or dental plaque.
Common Causes of Dry Mouth and Bad Breath (Xerostomia)
First of all, it’s important to realize that xerostomia is NOT a disease in and of itself. Rather it is a common side effect of prescription- and OTC drugs.
It can also be a symptom caused by certain physical disorders and diseases that target your salivary glands and/or tear ducts, some of which are mentioned below.
Specific types of medications that are known to affect your salivary glands include drugs for:
Urinary Incontinence Allergies High blood pressure Depression Diarrhea
Parkinson’s disease Analgesics Tranquilizers Diuretics Antihistamines
Cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation also tend to cause dry mouth.
Other Non-Drug Causes
Nerve damage in your head or neck that affect your salivary glands
Sjogren’s syndrome (an autoimmune disease, causes xerostomia and dry eyes)
Endocrine disorders
Alzheimer’s disease
Stroke
Anxiety disorders and depression
Interestingly, xerostomia can also be a sign of nutritional deficiencies (some drugs are also known to cause a variety of nutritional deficiencies).
Naturally, if you already suffer with dry mouth and/or bad breath, you can certainly make it worse for yourself by smoking, drinking alcohol, using alcohol-containing mouthwashes, and drinking caffeine. All of these behaviors will exacerbate your problem, so avoid them as much as possible.
Snoring, and constantly breathing through your mouth instead of your nose can also cause your mouth to dry out further.
If you’re a “mouth-breather,” pay conscious attention to how you breathe, and train yourself to breathe through your nose.
Quitting snoring, however, can be trickier, since it’s happening while you’re asleep. For a list of strategies to combat snoring, please see this previous article.
Why You Should Be Concerned About Dry Mouth
Dry mouth may seem like a trivial concern to many, especially if you’ve never experienced it. But aside from just being bothersome, the most hazardous consequence of dry mouth is the increase of tooth decay, which can impact your overall health if it goes too far. (Naturally, it will also affect your pocketbook, as the cost of dental services keep rising.)
Saliva serves several functions, one of which is to protect and help repair your teeth from the constant assaults mounted by bacteria and your diet. Without sufficient amounts of saliva, your teeth are in large part left unprotected.
To illustrate just how hazardous some drugs can be for your dental health, a previous study, using rats, showed that clonidine (Catapres) – a high blood pressure medication that has also become popular in treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children – resulted in 84 percent more cavities.
Xerostomia can also lead to thrush (oral candidiasis), a yeast infection of the mouth or throat, and can also have a negative impact on quality of life by affecting your:
Dietary habits
Nutritional status
Speech
Taste
Tolerance to dental prostehsis
What Can You Do?
First of all, if you suspect a drug may be the main culprit, see your doctor about adjusting your medication.
You’ll also want to pay particular attention to your dental health, both at home, on a daily basis, and by seeing your dentist for regular cleanings.
I would not advise using fluoride to reduce your risk of cavities, however. Fluoride is not an effective anti-cavity strategy, and comes with a number of serious health risks.
Brushing your teeth with a 50/50 mixture of unprocessed natural salt, such as Himalayan salt and baking soda tends to have a very healing effect on gums, and makes your teeth feel wonderfully clean.
Using a waterpik device is also helpful to keep your gums healthy.
There are also palliative treatments you can use for dry mouth, but keep in mind they will not treat the underlying cause of your problem. These include:
Blending your food or preparing moist dishes that are easier to swallow
Sipping water as needed
Using a salivary substitute (typically a preparation of water and glycerin)
A Note on Proper Tooth Brushing Technique
Maintaining good oral health is very important if you suffer from dry mouth, but keep in mind that brushing your teeth too hard and for longer than is necessary may cause more harm than good, as too vigorous a cleaning can cause damage to enamel and gums.
According to previous research, the ideal brushing time is two minutes and the ideal pressure 150 grams, which is about the weight of an orange. They found that when people brushed for longer than two minutes using pressure greater than 150 grams, no additional plaque was removed, so there’s simply no need to brush longer or harder than that.
If you are uncertain about the proper way to brush your teeth, or need advice on the correct size, shape and consistency of your toothbrush, talk to your dentist or dental hygienist.
Eating for Optimal Dental Health
Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of your diet to ameliorate the symptoms of dry mouth by improving your overall nutritional status.
For optimally healthy teeth, I strongly recommend following these dietary guidelines:
Find out your nutritional type, and eat accordingly. This will tell you which foods are ideal for your unique biochemistry.
Eat at least one-third of your food raw.
Avoid processed foods, sugar, refined flour and all artificial flavorings, colorings, and artificial sweeteners. Instead, seek out locally grown foods that are in-season.
Enjoy fermented foods like natto, kefir and cultured veggies.
Make sure you eat enough healthy fats, including those from animal sources like omega-3 fat, and reduce your intake of omega-6 from vegetable oils.
All of the brushing and flossing in the world will not give you the healthy teeth that the above steps will, so to counteract the damaging effects of dry mouth on your dental health, get started eating a healthier diet today.

Soy Bean and Processed Food

When it comes to soy, don't blame the bean; blame the processing
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
(NaturalNews) One of the strangest behaviors I've ever seen in the natural health crowd is something I call "Soy Rage." It's an angry reaction that wells up in some people every time they hear me recommend natural, non-GMO, home-made soy milk.
People get angry about it. Downright nasty at times. They insist all soy is bad for you and there's no such thing as "healthy soy." To that, I say stop blaming the plant.
Blame the processing. (And the slash-and-burn farming...)
Processed soy is atrociously bad for you
Based on everything I've learned over the last decades or soy, I believe that processed soy products are atrociously bad for you. I wouldn't touch a carton of Silk with a ten-foot straw. Processed tofu is a nutritious joke, and when it comes to soy protein, I've already published numerous articles exposing the toxins found in conventional processed soy protein.
Processed soy, like lots of processed things, is quite bad for your health.
But natural soy, grown organically (and locally, where possible), can actually be quite good for you. Natural soy milk, made right at home, has been part of the healthy traditional Chinese diet for thousands of years. Some of its plant-based nutrients have very powerful anti-cancer elements that can help prevent both prostate and breast cancers. Natural, non-GMO soy has some very positive properties and can play an important role in a healthy disease-preventing diet.
But the Soy Rage people don't see it that way. To them, all soy is bad for you, end of discussion.
It's an ignorant belief. It's like saying "all sugar is bad for you."
Well, not really. When I take a machete and cut some living sugar cane stalks here in Ecuador, and I take them to a sugar cane juicing machine and squeeze out all the green juice, with all its minerals and phytonutrients, and then I enjoy that amazing beverage, it's very good for me! Drinking raw sugar cane juice is a lot like drinking wheat grass juice (sugar cane is actually a grass) except it tastes way better.
Sugar is a lot like soy: When it's unprocessed and natural, it's quite good for you. When it's processed and modified, it's bad!
Lots of things are good for you BEFORE they're processed
Many people in the natural health arena need a better understanding of this: There are lots of things that are quite good for you in their unprocessed form. It's the processing that makes them bad for you.
For example:
Processed sugar cane is bad. Raw sugar cane is good.
Processed salt is bad. Unprocessed, full-spectrum sea salt is good.
Processed cow's milk is bad. Fresh, raw cow's milk is good.
Processed chocolate can be a junk food. Raw, natural cacao is a superfood!
Processed wheat is bad for you. Stone-ground whole wheat can be good for you.
Processed soy milk is bad. Natural, home-made soy milk is good.
Processed cheese is bad. Natural, home-made cheese is far less so.
Processed (canned) fruits are bad. Raw, fresh fruits are good for you.
You see, it's not the food itself that's good or bad -- it's the processing! And sadly, virtually all the foods consumed by most consumers today are highly processed.
What happens when you "process" food
So what's the problem with processing food anyway? When you process food, five very bad things happen:
#1 - Minerals are stripped out, such as 98% of the magnesium being stripped out of wheat when it's milled and bleached into white flour.
#2 - Phytonutrients are destroyed. As much as 90% of the phytonutrient content is lost during processing. (And remember, phytonutrients are the disease-fighting medicines found in foods.)
#3 - The physical properties of foods are artificially altered in a way that makes them dangerous. The homogenization of milk, for example, alters the fat molecules in milk, giving them properties that contribute to heart disease and clogged arteries. Partially-hydrogenated oils are also the result of a physical alteration that makes food dangerous for your health.
#4 - Calories are concentrated. When you process corn into High Fructose Corn Syrup, for example, you are concentrating calories in an unnatural way that then promotes diabetes and obesity.
#5 - Nutrient diversity is destroyed. In nature, every orange has a slightly different spectrum of nutrients, but by the time thousands of oranges are processed into orange juice, that natural variation has been lost. Processed food "standardization" is bad for you health because your body needs nutrient variety, not nutrient conformity.
These five alterations turn a once-healthy food into a disease-promoting food. Once again, it's not the food, it's the processing that determines its health status.
So what about soy?
Getting back to the soy question, if you drink soy milk as it has been traditionally made in Asia for thousands of years, it's good for you in moderation. If you drink processed, pasteurized, standardized garbage soy milk beverages made from pesticide-ridden soybeans (or GM soy), then you're just being duped.
Real soy milk, by the way, only lasts a couple of days in the refrigerator. It goes bad very quickly because it's real food. But processed soy milk lasts a long, long, long time without going sour. That makes me suspicious: Why won't bacteria eat this stuff?
And one of the best bits of food advice I can give you is simple this: If bacteria won't eat it, you probably shouldn't either.
Anything that has a long shelf life, in other words, is probably laced with toxic chemicals or completely devoid of nutrients. So don't eat it or drink it. That goes for margarine, processed cheese "food" (a hilarious misnomer if I've ever heard one) and processed soy milk.
The GOOD soy milk
One brand of soy milk I do trust is Eden Soy. (http://www.edenfoods.com/) Their soy products have been through all kinds of scrutiny and passed with flying colors. They even received high scores from the Cornucopia Institute's Behind the Bean report: http://www.cornucopia.org/2009/05/soy-report-and-scorecard/
Here's the soy scorecard you'll want to see: http://www.cornucopia.org/soysurvey/
Notice which brands have all the crap ratings? They're the most popular brands: Gardenburger (yuck!), Silk (are you kidding me?), Westsoy (ugh), Boca Burgers (choke!), and O Organics (do they think we're stupid?).
The best brands were Eden Soy, Vermont Soy, Unisoya and many others that you can see for yourself on the scorecard.
So please help me get the word out to those who suffer from Soy Rage -- it's not the plant, it's the processing! Soy can be really good, or soy can be really bad. It all depends on how you grow it and process it.
It's really the same story with almost every food. Corn can be wholesome and healthy, or it can be made into liquid junk foods (HFCS). Same story with sugar, too. In fact, it's pretty darned ignorant to run around making blanket statements like, "All ___ is bad" (fill in the blank with whatever natural plant you wish).
I trust and believe that NaturalNews readers are the discerning type of people who recognize that the processing makes all the difference.
Don't believe food company health claims
Of course, processed food companies exploit the confusion to try to position their highly processed junk foods as healthy foods. They proclaim, "Made with soy!" Or "Made with omega-3s!" Yeah, but they're probably all oxidized and nutritionally worthless by the time you open the box that's been on the shelf for four months.
My advice? Stop believing anything the food companies say and simply think for yourself. If it's processed, packaged and made with a long list of un-pronouncable ingredients, it's almost certainly really, really bad for you. Avoid anything that's pasteurized, homogenized, hydrogenated or autolyzed and you'll live a whole lot longer.
And don't be afraid of good soy products. They can actually be quite healthy for you when consumed in moderation. I don't recommend drinking soy all day long every day, of course. There's a sensible limit on everything. But drinking some organic, trusted soy milk as part of your breakfast is perfectly healthy. In fact, it has some health benefits that are very clearly noted in the scientific literature.
Soy farming
The real downside to soy isn't the plant itself, but rather the slash-and-burn farming practices surrounding soy. In order to grow soy, farmers in Brazil and other South American countries are destroying the Amazon rainforest.
Here's a good article by Lester Brown that summarizes the scope of the destruction: http://www.grist.org/article/growing-demand-for-soybeans-threatens-amazon-rainforest
Some of this blame, of course, rests with U.S. soy product companies that have stopped buying soybeans from American farmers and resorted to cheaper, imported soybeans grown in areas that used to be pristine rainforest. That's why the Behind the Bean report mentioned above is so valuable: It helps clue us in on the origins of the soybeans used in various soy products.
The biggest consumer of soy, however, is indirectly the meat industry. That's because most of the soy grown in the world ends up used in animal feed. So the single biggest step that consumers can take right now to save the Amazon rainforest is to stop eating meat that's raised on soybeans. That alone would curb soy production and put a halt to the destruction of the Amazon.
For those who choose to eat soy, it's important to know where your soy comes from. If possible, buy soy products made from soybeans grown within your own country. The products may be more expensive than ones made from cheap slash-and-burn agricultural practices in the Amazon, but they make a lot more economic sense when you consider the bigger picture.
The Amazon rainforest, of course, offers huge economic benefits when it is left intact and living. But those economic benefits don't appear on any accounting tables or GDP figures, so they are largely ignored. But the simple truth is that we're all better off with the Amazon rainforest alive than dead.
Want to save the Amazon? Eat less meat (raised on soybeans). And when you consume soy products, don't buy products made from soy grown in what used to be the Amazon rainforest. Share Buzz up!vote now

Mediterranean Diet Beats Drugs
Researchers Reluctantly Admit Mediterranean Diet Beats Diabetes Drugs for Controlling Blood Sugar
by David Gutierrez, staff writer
(NaturalNews) For the first time, a long-term health study has demonstrated that the Mediterranean diet may help diabetes patients control their blood sugar without the use of medication.
"A Mediterranean-style diet is a very important part in the treatment of diabetes," said endocrinologist Loren Greene of New York University Medical Center, who was not involved in the study. "We knew that, but there just hasn't been a good study to confirm this before."
In a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, researchers assigned 215 overweight, adult residents of Naples, Italy, to adhere to one of two diets. Participants in one group were assigned to follow a Mediterranean diet -- eating large quantities of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and certain healthy fats such as olive oil; favoring lean protein sources such as nuts, poultry and fish; and gaining no more than half their daily calories from carbohydrates. Participants in the other group were assigned to follow a low-fat diet similar to that recommended by the American Heart Association -- with no more than 30 percent of its daily calories from fat and 10 percent from saturated fat; low in sweets and high-fat snacks; and high in fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
All participants were instructed to limit their caloric intake to 1,800 calories per day for men and 1,500 per day for women. They were given regular nutrition counseling and urged to exercise regularly.
After four years, 56 percent of the participants in the Mediterranean diet group were able to manage their diabetes without drugs, compared with only 30 percent of those in the low-fat group. Participants eating a Mediterranean diet also maintained more weight loss and more improvement in levels of HDL ("bad") cholesterol and triglycerides.
Greene noted that as most patients dislike taking medication, the new study might provide an incentive for more diabetics to watch their diets.
"If you are told, 'If you don't want to go on medicine, stick to this diet,' then that's a pretty valuable tool at least for patient compliance," she said.

Immunity from Diseases
Many medical studies have proven that all diseases can be prevented or cured if we boost our immune system. These diseases include AIDS, H1N1, Bird Flu, Cancer, Heart Attack, Diabetes and more than 10,000 other listed diseases.
A strong immune system will naturally get rid of toxins, viruses and bad bacterias. Any viruses or bad bacterias entering the body will be killed by it.
The problem with people nowadays is they either have little knowledge of natural health or have knowledge of drugs and vaccines only. They still use drugs and vaccines whenever the symptoms appear. Drugs and vaccine are poisons to the body. They are useful only in emergency cases only. We don't need them if we boost our immunity regularly. The symptoms of sickness e.g flu, fever, skin rashes, weakness, etc, are your body ways of informing you that your immunity is low. You must take action to boost it. Most people either take supplements which they have read about from companies advertising their products or they just ignore the symptoms and let the body heals itself. Supplements cannot compare with the natural food and herbs eaten and drunk in the right amount and properly. Supplements are useful only when the patients cannot eat or drink. Using drugs and vaccines will add more toxins to our body which is already very toxic (read my earlier postings).
Your body can heal itself if your immunity is good. But you must maintain it regulary. Íf your immunity is strong, you won't éven fall sick or have disease at all. Our intelligent body has a self-healing mechanism to take care of our body and health. It is the best "doctor"in the world. It is not designed to get sick or become diseased. We make ourselves sick. We can be in optimum health if we service and take care of its needs.
Some of our body needs are:
1. Detox the body (Cleanse all the body organs )
2. Remove the liver and gallbladder stones regularly
3. Reduce the intake of toxins from food, drink, and environments
4. Take proper nutritions and antioxidants (fresh, organic fruits and raw
vegetables - eaten or blend and drink immediately)
5. Regular moderate exercise e.g brisk walking, qigong and tai chi
6. Live a healthy lifestyle
7. Avoid unnecessary drugs and vaccines
8. Meditation or other forms of stress-releasing activities
Many people has delegated their health to the doctors. They have completely neglected the natural health knowledge. They are out of touch with nature. They only think of drugs and vaccinations when they are sick. They should take control of their health by fulfilling their body needs mentioned above.
Join my workshop in April 2010 to learn how to take control of your health and your loved ones. The date and venue will be announced in March 2010.
Or
Organise a group of people and contact me for a 2-3 hours health talk ( mentioned in my earlier blog posting) in the convinence of your place.

My New Year Formula for Better Blood Sugar

Dear liew,
You can beat fat and knock out diabetes this New Year.
In my practice I use a handful of minerals and herbs that naturally improve your body’s response to insulin. They’re safe and keep your blood sugar in check.
My friend and colleague Dr. Michael Cutler sent me an email with a very good round-up of the best herbs and minerals.
These insights mirror my own research, and I wanted to share them with you…
Here are six nutrients you can use right away to help control your blood sugar this year:
Gymnema Sylvestre: For more than 2,000 years, people in India have used this herb to help control blood sugar. In fact, the leaves of this climbing plant are prized by practitioners of Ayurvedic medicine, the holistic system of healing.
The herb is also called “gurmar,” which means “destroyer of sugar” in Hindi. This name describes the way that chewing the leaves interferes with your ability to taste sweetness. Because this herb decreases the sensation of sweetness in many foods, it may reduce your cravings for sugary snacks.
Dr. K. Baskaran published a study involving patients who took 400 mg of this extract daily for 18 to 20 months along with their oral medications.1 This group showed a significant reduction in their fasting blood sugar levels.
Chromium: Another weapon in nature’s arsenal of sugar fighters is the mineral chromium. Chromium aids in digestion and helps move blood glucose from the bloodstream into the cells for energy. It also helps turn fats, carbohydrates, and proteins into energy.
Chromium is also critical for healthy insulin function. Without enough chromium in your body, insulin just doesn’t work properly.
Chromium exists in many foods, including brewer’s yeast, meats, potatoes (especially in the skin), cheeses, molasses, whole-grain breads and cereals, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
Despite the wide availability of chromium from food sources, research shows that 90% of American adults have a chromium-deficient diet!2 This could be a key reason why an increasing number of Americans suffer blood sugar problems.
Cinnamon: Recent scientific discoveries prove that this commonly used spice helps regulate blood sugar in ways previously unknown.
Scientists at the Maryland-based Human Nutrition Research Center were studying the effects of common foods on blood sugar.3 Dr. Richard Anderson, lead scientist and chemist, noticed that when patients ate apple pie… their blood sugar levels actually IMPROVED!
Further investigation revealed it was the cinnamon in the apple pie that helped their blood sugar levels. Researchers discovered that cinnamon actually increases your glucose metabolism.4,5,6,7 It contains a compound called methylhydroxy chalcone polymer, or MHCP for short, that works with insulin to help process glucose.
In fact, a laboratory test conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) showed MHCP increased glucose metabolism by roughly 20 times.
Banaba Leaf Extract: Traditionally, people living in the Philippines, South Asia, and India have brewed a banaba leaf tea to help regulate blood sugar.
Medical scientists believe that banaba leaf’s beneficial effects on blood sugar are due to its high concentration of corosolic acid, a natural compound extracted from its leaves. Corosolic acid mimics insulin by moving sugar out of your bloodstream and into your cells. And numerous scientific studies have proven banaba leaf’s effectiveness.
In one study, patients with blood sugar concerns took a supplement containing banaba leaf or a placebo three times a day for four weeks.8 The placebo group had no change, but the banaba leaf group achieved very good results for blood sugar balancing.
Fenugreek: Fenugreek is an herb native to the Mediterranean, Ukraine, India, and China. Practitioners of Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine have used the herb for more than 2,000 years. Modern scientists now know it helps balance your cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood glucose.
Fenugreek seed stimulates insulin release. This helps food sugars reach your cells properly. In one study, patients with blood sugar concerns were divided into two groups.9 Group 1 received one gram of fenugreek seed extract, and group 2 received a combination of dietary control, exercise, and a placebo capsule for two months.
Patients in group 1 saw more positive results for blood sugar, insulin resistance, cholesterol, and triglycerides, compared to group 2. And, three more studies confirm that it helps stabilize blood sugar in patients with blood sugar and insulin problems.10,11,12
Bitter Melon: Although it may be unknown to most people in the West, bitter melon has long been used in South America, the Caribbean, East Africa, and the Orient as both food and a natural medicine. And scientific studies prove its value for treating blood sugar problems.
For example, two studies show bitter melon could play a key role in helping to balance insulin in your body.13,14 And another study showed bitter melon had positive effects on the serum glucose levels of those taking it, following both fasting and eating.15
I’ve used these to help manage the blood sugar of my patients. They work.
I suggest you read Dr. Cutler’s special medical report, “Reverse Diabetes and Blood Sugar Problems With Forbidden Secrets From Nature’s Pharmacy.” His insights help you to:
Balance your blood sugar
Control insulin and help your body use it more effectively
Keep your cholesterol healthy
Boost your immunity
Support healthy weight reduction
Protect your kidneys
Banish tired, sluggish feelings
Reduce sugar and food cravings

Natural Treatment for Cancer
Cancer is not a disease. It's a survival mechanism / symptoms created by our body to warn us that something is not right with it.
The body of a cancer patient is very toxic, acidic and has not enough oxygen and nutrients. Using chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery and drugs to treat it will add more toxins and harm the body.
The natural way of treating cancer must be wholesome. The treatment must involve the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects.
Physical
1. Remove Toxins from the whole body by cleansing:-
The Nasal cavity, Mouth cavity, Lungs, Intestines, Colon, Liver,
Gallbladder, Kidneys, Endocrine glands, Skin and every part of the body.
2. Drink plenty of alkaline water to flush out the toxins and neutralize the
acidity in the body.
3. Avoid denatured, processed, GMO, micro waved and refined food
4. Eat fresh organic fruits and raw vegetables (80%)
5. Eat cooked vegetables (20%)
6. Blend 2 thumb-size tumeric with distilled water and add raw honey. Drink
it 2 times per day.
7. Drink papaya or pineapple enzyme 1 hour after food to help digestion
8. Drink at least 8 glasses of fresh organic fruit and vegetable juice every
day.
9. Moderate exercise, e.g. Walking, Qigong, Tai Chi & Yoga everyday.
10.Live a healthy lifestyle.
Emotional
1. Undergo emotional freedom therapy
2. Give and receive love and care
3. Forgive his/her enemies and all people he/she is angry with.
Mental
1. Relax the mind by listening to soothing music and joyful songs
2. Watch entertaining show with laughter and happiness
3. Think of happy moments e.g. achievements and episodes in the past
4. Involve in stress releasing activities e.g play musical instruments and
games
5. Meditation
Spritual
1. Believe you can be cured. Your brain controls your cells. Tell them to
heal your cancer cells
2. Keep your spirit high
3. Accept cancer and don't worry about it. Worrying worsen its condition.
4. Stroke and massage your cancer parts everyday. Tell them you love them.
If the cancer patient diligently followed the above, the body can get rid of the toxins, return it into a slightly alkaline state (pH 7.35-7.45), and have enough oxygen and nutrients for it to heal itself.

Dear liew,
The drugs in the commercial beef you buy at your local supermarket are getting so bad, even the vultures are dying.
I just read a report that millions of vultures died in South Asia after eating cattle carcasses tainted with two drugs used to treat livestock.
As scavengers, vultures have an iron-clad digestive system. Look at their diet – the birds eat nothing but putrid meat day in and day out. Yet their numbers have decreased – almost to extinction in some cases – because of the deadly effect of drugs we inject into cattle.
Imagine for a moment what would have happened had the meat made its way into your refrigerator.
For millions of years, beef has been a healthy part of our ancestors’ diet. But our ancestors never had to deal with the commercial farming practices of today.
I want to stress the importance of making certain the meat you eat is not commercially raised. My two biggest concerns are antibiotics and hormones…
Commercially raised cattle are force-fed grain laced with antibiotics – not because they’re sick, but to:
Increase daily body-weight gain
Improve food-to-weight gain ratio
Increase the voluntary intake of food
Did you know that 70% of all antibiotics in the U.S. are used – not in people – but in “healthy” livestock animals?2 This is a major crisis for us, because antibiotics create drug-resistant strains of bacteria that live in the food we eat. Because of this, many life-threatening diseases – such as E.coli, Salmonella, and Campylobacter – are almost impossible to treat.3
The other major issue is hormones.
Most beef in the U.S. is injected with synthetic hormones that are transferred to people. They are dangerous to children, dangerous to adults, and also cause cancer. It’s such a health concern that there’s been a ban on hormone-treated U.S. meat throughout the European nations since 1989.4
It’s a sad commentary.
I was lucky enough to grow up eating grass-fed beef. My mom and dad made sure we had locally grown, healthy, grazing beef from neighboring farms. They simply didn’t trust the commercial beef industry; my dad said they kept too many secrets. But they did trust what they could see in our neighbors’ fields and farms.
Finding quality grass-fed beef is tricky sometimes. Grocery stores often label meat as grass-fed because at one time in their life, a cow grazed on grass, but later was put on a grain diet. So it’s important to investigate.
Today, I order all my meat from a rancher who I now consider my friend, John. John’s ranch is in Virginia. When I visited his ranch, it was a beautiful sight to behold, the cattle roaming free and grazing over acres of hilly grasslands.
And there is nothing like his dry-aged cuts of beef. The thought makes my mouth water.
If you’re having trouble finding a true, quality, grass-fed cut of beef, or if you simply want to try a slice of heaven, I made it possible for you to order from John. You can rest assured you’ll be getting prime beef without the worry.

NOTE:
We should also be aware of the beef, pork and chicken meat we eat. Make sure they are free range and not fed with antibiotics and hormones. Antibiotics kill the friendly bacterias in our intestines and colon. These bacterias digest the food we eat so that they can be bioavailable to our body. Meat should consist of less than 10% of our diet. Vegetarians should take more beans and nuts to ensure they have enough proteins. Eat fresh local fruits, raw vegetables (80%) and cooked food (20%). The enzymes, which help the digestion of food, are destroyed in cooked, preserved and processed food. Undigested food produced toxins in our body.
